Counselling and admission rounds move fast. Missing one certificate can cost you a seat. Keep originals, two sets of self-attested copies and scanned PDFs of everything below.
Academic documents
- Class 10 mark sheet and pass certificate (also used as proof of date of birth)
- Class 12 mark sheet and pass certificate
- Graduation mark sheets and degree or provisional certificate (for PG admission)
- Entrance exam admit card and score card or rank card
Identity and personal documents
- Aadhaar card or another government photo ID
- Recent passport-size photographs (keep 8–10)
- Transfer certificate and migration certificate, if you are changing board or university
- Character or conduct certificate from the last institution
Category and quota documents (if applicable)
- Caste certificate in the format the admission authority asks for
- OBC non-creamy layer certificate — check the validity date required
- EWS certificate for the current financial year
- Disability certificate (PwBD)
- Domicile or residence certificate for state quota
- Income certificate for fee concessions and scholarships
Other useful documents
- Gap certificate or affidavit, if you took a break
- Medical fitness certificate
- Bank details for fee refunds and scholarships
Smart habits
- Scan every document as a clear PDF under the size limit counselling portals usually set.
- Name files clearly, such as Class10_Marksheet.pdf.
- Check the exact format each certificate must follow — a wrong format is a common reason for rejection.
