Government Job Application Checklist: 9 Mistakes That Get Forms Rejected

Wrong photo size, mismatched names, missed fee payment — avoid the common mistakes that get government job applications rejected.

  4. Apply early

Thousands of applications are rejected every year for small, avoidable errors. Before you click “submit”, go through this list.

Before you start

  1. Read the full notification. Eligibility, age limit, cut-off date and the documents needed are all in it. Download it from the official website only.
  2. Check eligibility on the cut-off date. Use our Age & Exam Eligibility Calculator to be sure.
  3. Prepare scans first. Photo, signature and sometimes thumb impression must match the size and format rules exactly.

While filling the form

  1. Match your name with your Class 10 certificate. Spelling differences are one of the most common problems at document verification.
  2. Choose the category carefully. You must be able to show a valid certificate for the category you claim.
  3. Use an email and mobile number you will keep. Admit cards and results are sent there.
  4. Choose exam centres with care. Centres usually cannot be changed later.

After submitting

  1. Confirm the fee payment. A form is often incomplete until payment succeeds. Save the transaction receipt.
  2. Download and print the final application. Keep it with your documents.

Never pay anyone who promises a government job. Recruitment happens only through official exams and websites.

Apply early

Official websites slow down near the last date. Applying in the first week avoids payment failures and server errors.
